Construction Industry Advisory Council
The LSU Construction Industry Advisory Council (CIAC) was formed in 1997 by a group of area contractors to support the Construction Management & Industrial Engineering (CMIE) Department. CIAC's mission is to improve and enhance the construction industry through supporting high quality education. CIAC accomplishes this mission by stimulating financial support and involvement of its seven committees. These very active committees are as follows:
- Department Enhancement
- Student Enhancement
- Curriculum & Accreditation
- Finance & Governance
- Publicity & Promotion
- Membership & Fundraising
- Personnel
The LSU CIAC was organized under the umbrella of the LSU Foundation solely for the purpose of building support for the LSU CM/IE program. Tax-deductible annual membership dues of $1,000 are be deposited into the Department's account at the LSU Foundation. In return, LSU CIAC members provide guidance in determining how those dollars are spent and how the Department grows and evolves.
LSU's CMIE Department has continued to grow and now has over 600 students. Of the 66 construction programs at universities nationwide, LSU has the second largest enrollment. Unfortunately, state funding has not kept up with this increasing number of students, and the department needs more support to retain the quality of its current program. This is where you can help. Please support the department by making a tax deductible contribution. The check can be made out and mailed to:
