Ms. Taren Daigle , a student in the IE program, received the Donald W. Clayton Engineering Excellence Award at the 2005-06 Hall of Distinction banquet on Thursday, April 6. The award includes a $5,000 scholarship.

Mr. Clayton is a 1959 petroleum engineering graduate from LSU and retired as Chairman and CEO of Howell Corporation, and has been a generous contributor to the College of Engineering.

Ms. Daigle was also the recipient of the IE 2005-06 "Senior Of The Year" Award at the department's IE Banquet last Fall.
