Congratulations to Brandon
Pitts, who won 1st place in the student paper competition at the IIE Southeast
Region Student Conference held Feb 12-14, 2009 at LSU. Brandon’s work, titled
“The Relative Contributions of Cognitive and Visual/Manual Distractions to
Driving Performance” reported a study he performed over the past summer at the
University of Iowa through an NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU).
Brandon will now compete at
the international level at the international IIE conference to be held in Miami,
FL from May 30-June 3, 2009.
